How to Get Out of Dangerous Situations - Scuba Diving Tips For Beginners

Scuba Diving Great Barrier Reef

Scuba diving is one of those recreational sports that must be taken seriously. If it is not then the chance of getting injured rises and you really don’t want to hurt yourself or others around you, no?

To prevent this from happening simply stick by the rules, if you ever happen to get in trouble underwater and your dive buddy is nowhere or to far away then it’s up to you to save yourself. First thing to keep in mind is that you should always stay calm, I can’t stress this enough but staying calm at any time underwater can save many lives.

It’s here on the equator at the confluence of currents, where the cold waters traveling north from Antarctica mix with the warm tropical waters traveling south from Panama that a unique environment is formed. On the islands it’s characterized by seeing Galapagos Penguins living only a few feet away from tropical Pink Flamingos. Yet it’s when you are underwater when you get to know how truly special this area is.

The Galapagos are volcanic islands that benefit from equatorial upwelling making it an ideal marine environment. These waters are rich with nutrients. The porous lava rocks provide small fish with the protection they would otherwise receive from a coral reef, which are few and far between in these waters.

One of the reasons it is such a good idea to go scuba diving in Aruba is because it gives you the opportunity to see the island from another perspective. When you typically go on an island vacation, you get to see the usual sights. You see the sandy beaches, the great sunsets and the clear waters. When you are scuba diving, you get to see those same clear waters but from in those waters.

-Size:

Never get a knife longer than 5 inches. The longer the better is not always true. Large dive knives can be awkward and can easily cut you or puncture you BC. You should buy a knife that will be useful to you as a diver and not an underwater warrior.

In recent years, the addition of dive schools has made the Galapagos the perfect place for beginners to get certified or complete their open-water training in the protected waters of Academy Bay and Santa Fe.

No matter what your skill level the Galapagos is considered one of the world’s finest marine environments with incredible diving experiences for divers of all abilities. It’s no wonder so many divers know just how special the Galapagos Islands are
